Act in a Performance

I like music very much, and especially rock music, and I can play the electric guitar, I held a rock band with three of my schoolmates. On the NFLS Foreign Language festival, our rock band attended and had an act in front of all students and teachers of NFLS. Our band’s name is “GCA Rockies Rock Band”, we have a drum player, two guitar player and a bass player. We all love music so we came together to form this band.
I am the rhythm guitar player of our band, and it’s our second experience of acting. I didn’t feel as nervous as the first time, and we all played very naturally. The acting was good but we were still not enough outgoing, my friends said I should have more ardor, I agree it too. The night before the acting I was very excited and could hardly sleep. When I was standing on the stage in front of thousands of people, I felt a little bit nervous, but quickly I adjusted. I was into the act. After this, I thought I won’t feel nervous any more when I will act in front of many people.
I think our band will act more in the future and we can be better!

Went to Vitas’ Concert

On May 2nd, I went to the Russian singer Vitas’ concert with my best friend frank Wu. The concert was held in the Nanjing Olympic Centre, and it started at 7:30 pm. There were nearly 3 thousand people there and it was not crowded as I thought.
We arrived at the Olympic centre at 5 pm, and we were buying the tickets at the front gate. We found that there are many ticket tout there. We found that the tickets that tout were selling were much cheaper than the standard tickets, so I doubt the ticket were fakes, so finally we bought the standard tickets from the selling window. And unluckily, when we were entering the concert, I found that some others who bought the tickets from the ticket tout didn’t enter the concert because the tickets were fakes.
Vitas’ voice is very different from any other singer; his voice is a very high-pitched voice, sometimes like woman’s voice and it’s very special. He also brings the atmosphere there into a culminating point by saying some Chinese like “I love you” etc.
After watching his performance, I found that he is a very talented singer and I like his songs much more than before.

Basketball and Me

I love basketball very much, I started playing basketball when I was a child, and I am the player of our school basketball team. I play the role of SG (score guard), as you can see from the name, SG is the player who need to shoot and score. A SG is not a tall guy, and he should be nimble and have good ability to score, I think I am good at it. I play basketball every afternoon after school; actually it becomes a part of my life. I am not used to the life without basketball. When we are playing against other classes, I am the key figure of our class. I always get the most score and help our class to win.
Basketball is not only a sport that needs to play; you also need to think when you are playing. There is something called basketball IQ, it means how you will play with others during a game. If you are a very good player with super personal skill, but you don’t know how to match up with your teammates, you can’t win the game because you can’t win a team by yourself. The only way you can win is teamwork.
Playing basketball makes my body strong, make me have the willpower, I will keep playing it and never stop!

Soccer Club and Me

Soccer is one of my favorite sport, so I joined our school’s soccer club this year. Soccer is a team sport, there are 11 people on a team, but we high school students only have 7 players on a team. The soccer field that we use is smaller than the 11 on 11 fields. I am the left wing of our team, the main function of the two wings are score and assistance. We had played with many teams this year; we had played with many international students, teachers, other school teams, I found that my soccer skill improved a lot this year. When we were playing with some strong teams, I found that teamwork is very important, whether your personal skill is so good or bad; the only thing you need to think is teamwork, only a well-cooperated team can win.
Attending the soccer club also made a lot of friends for me, they can be from different classes, different grades, even from our opponent. During the training, I improved my skills very much; also improve the friendship with each other. During the matches, I learned to deal with the problem calmly.
As a good soccer player, you need to work with others, train hard, and have willpower. Our coach Mr. Penny always tells us not to give up until the end of the match, whether is winning or lose.
Anyways, soccer club is not only a club for students to play soccer, but also a place for us to learn, to grow up.
